Last year I made one New Year's resolution: to wash my hands immediately every time I came into the house from someplace else. I had bursitis in 2007, and some mysterious knee injury, and stitches in my hand, but I hardly got any colds at all.

It was a good resolution. I recommend it.

Maybe this year I'll resolve to floss.

How about you? Have you ever made a resolution that really, really worked for you?

Bath and Body Works makes really nice hand and body creams that come in a lot of different scents (honeysuckle, coconut lime verbena, pomegranate and grapefruit are particular favorites of mine). They start off just a teeny bit oily but sink in pretty fast, and are okay to use on the face. At least, they work fine on me. Their regular body lotions are also very nice and not at all oily. I use those in the summer when I have fewer dry skin issues. These are all in the "Signature Collection".

Avoid their "True Blue Spa" stuff - I've tried some and didn't find it effective. And if you have any skin or respiratory allergies, the Aromatherapy items will mess you up bigtime.

Avon makes a face cream called Nurtura. I don't think it's available all the time, though. It's not oily at all, although it's only a very mild moisturizer, and it's very nice. No residue. I use that at night so I don't feel like I need to wash my pillowcase every day.
