Two spelling notes of special interest to HP writers:

P-H-I-A-L. (Not phile or phiol.)

V-I-A-L. (Not vile. Or viol, though it amuses me to imagine Snape opening his nightstand drawer and pulling a musical instrument out of it.)

And of course there's no law that says Snape can't get his slick out of a bottle, tube, or jar like everybody else.

A brief and probably pathetic whine about the title of my website:

in medias Res.

"Medias." Not "media." It means "into the midst of things." "Midst" is plural in Latin.

Sorry, but it grates on me. Like someone persistently spelling my name wrong.
