[personal profile] blnchflr pointed out to me that Transfigurations is ten years old this month. (I don't think I've ever stuck with any other hobby for ten years, despite all those piano lessons.)

At this distance, the main thing I see in the story is a triumph of collaboration. The kind of shared creation that goes on in fandom is something I've never seen anywhere else, and it's unspeakably precious.

[livejournal.com profile] rhicauldrie has taken on the enormous task of creating a podfic of Transfigurations (and the mini-follow-up, Repairs). You can download the chapters from here.

Pretty cool, huh? Be sure to let the podficcer know if you like it!

So cool! ~cambium (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] ectomycorrhizae, whose username always comes into my brain as "ecto-my-lou, my darling") has illustrated one of the scenes in Transfigurations that I most wanted to see!

~cambium's beautiful Transfigurations art here

Well, I had one of those days where the warm-up exercise took all day long. But at least I wrote something.

Fair -- for [livejournal.com profile] nestra, who asked for Harry/Ron/Hermione, "Langour."

Also, I've finally done a site update to display the lovely gifts people have given me.

[livejournal.com profile] lilbakht has drawn me a lovely image of Draco talking to the Snape statue from Transfigurations.

And -- I've never, ever seen anything like this -- Ian McDuff has made a movie score for Transfigurations! To listen to it (and look at the score), you'll need to download the Sibelius Scorch plug-in; instructions are on the page linked. If you like it, please e-mail him and let him know!

Somehow I neglected to mention this yesterday, but [livejournal.com profile] julad has written the loveliest, most imaginative, cleverest Snape/Neville story ever.

Night-Blooming Heartsease

This is set in the Transfigurations universe; I suspect it would stand on its own if you hadn't read Transfig, but obviously I'm not the one to say for sure. But I can tell you that it's a marvelous world of its own, wonderful to sink into and stay awhile, and that it gets Neville from book-canon to Transfig-canon in a truly marvelous way.

I'll just include the warning Julad gave in her own LJ: Please note: There's a quote at the start of the story, and it's there to serve as a gentle reminder for those who've read Transfigurations, and a warning for those who haven't.

If you like it, please tell her so.

I've just posted the DVD commentary track for Transfigurations, with special bonus commentary from beta goddess [livejournal.com profile] julad.

Enormous file warning: it's 506K.

I know, I know, it's not Easter Monday. I didn't get as much writing time as I expected during my vacation.

But now, glorying in the knowledge that I completed my HP novel before JKR completed hers (though not by much), I present:

Transfigurations

I can't even begin to list all the people I need to thank here -- you can read about them in the story notes (watch out for spoilers) -- but I owe it all to [livejournal.com profile] julad, who deserves to be showered with chocolate, rose petals, good-looking pureblood wizards, and anything else her heart desires. I also want to give special mention to [livejournal.com profile] darthfox and [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza and [livejournal.com profile] kaneko for beta.
