At this distance, the main thing I see in the story is a triumph of collaboration. The kind of shared creation that goes on in fandom is something I've never seen anywhere else, and it's unspeakably precious.

Transfigurations art!
Sep. 18th, 2006 02:08 pmSo cool! ~cambium (a.k.a.
ectomycorrhizae, whose username always comes into my brain as "ecto-my-lou, my darling") has illustrated one of the scenes in Transfigurations that I most wanted to see!

New HP smutlet (Fair), art, and music!
Jul. 31st, 2004 03:32 pmWell, I had one of those days where the warm-up exercise took all day long. But at least I wrote something.
Fair -- for
nestra, who asked for Harry/Ron/Hermione, "Langour."
Also, I've finally done a site update to display the lovely gifts people have given me.
lilbakht has drawn me a lovely image of Draco talking to the Snape statue from Transfigurations.
And -- I've never, ever seen anything like this -- Ian McDuff has made a movie score for Transfigurations! To listen to it (and look at the score), you'll need to download the Sibelius Scorch plug-in; instructions are on the page linked. If you like it, please e-mail him and let him know!

Somehow I neglected to mention this yesterday, but
julad has written the loveliest, most imaginative, cleverest Snape/Neville story ever.
Night-Blooming Heartsease
This is set in the Transfigurations universe; I suspect it would stand on its own if you hadn't read Transfig, but obviously I'm not the one to say for sure. But I can tell you that it's a marvelous world of its own, wonderful to sink into and stay awhile, and that it gets Neville from book-canon to Transfig-canon in a truly marvelous way.
I'll just include the warning Julad gave in her own LJ: Please note: There's a quote at the start of the story, and it's there to serve as a gentle reminder for those who've read Transfigurations, and a warning for those who haven't.
If you like it, please tell her so.

New HP novel: Transfigurations
Apr. 25th, 2003 11:16 pmI know, I know, it's not Easter Monday. I didn't get as much writing time as I expected during my vacation.
But now, glorying in the knowledge that I completed my HP novel before JKR completed hers (though not by much), I present:
Transfigurations
Harry/Draco -- NC-17 -- 400K
No underage
Five years after Voldemort's defeat, Harry returns to England to help re-open Hogwarts.
Or read one chapter at a time:
1. Homing
2. Ruins
3. Sacrifice
4. Synergy
5. Lessons
6. The Ripple Effect
7. All Souls
8. Greetings
9. Modern History
10. Finding
11. The League of Protection
12. Magic Fatigue
13. Duels
14. Dungeons
15. Memorials
16. Sorting
Epilogue
I can't even begin to list all the people I need to thank here -- you can read about them in the story notes (watch out for spoilers) -- but I owe it all to
julad, who deserves to be showered with chocolate, rose petals, good-looking pureblood wizards, and anything else her heart desires. I also want to give special mention to
darthfox and
cesperanza and
kaneko for beta.
