Lestrade: Falls in love too fast. Knows he falls in love too fast. Is hampered sometimes by simultaneously trying to make sure you have a good time and trying to make sure he doesn't make a fool of himself by expanding two good nights into a lifetime of true love.

I can't tell you why, but that rings very true for how I'd see the character. Interesting.
