Damn gangs

Today's security alert from the neighborhood association near the church where I work: Someone found their yard vandalized this morning. Upon viewing the security video, they discovered that this was caused by four coyotes digging up their irrigation system and chewing on it.

I can add nothing to this.

I refer you to the gang of wild dogs that roamed my neighborhood - and the pair of turkeys that kicked their collective asses.

Made the front page of the local paper. And I have blogged about it: http://very-ish.blogspot.com/2011/07/turkeys-in-news.html

I saw a picture of these birds and they were huge. 0.o I would not have messed with them.

Bored much, were they?

And squirrels go a great way towards alleviating boredom.

Scofflaws, the lot of 'em!

Also: I wonder what kind of glue was used in connecting the pipes. Some kinds are very tasty to canines. (Cost me a belt sander once. Dog: "Chew toy! Nummy gluey sandpaper! Yay!" Oops?)

Gangs of coyotes are the worst! They wear secret signs, like whiskers or pointy ears, to show what gang they are in, and they get into fights with each other. Those coyotes are like animals.

That kind of makes me think of this. In the "wild animals are out to get us" sense.

It sounds to me like the coyotes are opposed to the damage that unnatural expanses of lawn (and the irrigation required to maintain them) are doing to the local ecosystem.

Either that or they enjoy frolicking through the sprinklers, and they were ticked that it wasn't running when they came by.

Both of these explanations sound reasonable to me! :D (Not least because I sympathise with both motives...)

Maybe they were some out-of-town coyotes from near the irrigation source, tracking down their missing water.
