I spent a week away from home for Thanksgiving, and these are the things I was most annoyed at not having on hand:

5. Real cream for my coffee
4. For that matter, coffee that wasn't decaf
3. The little pillow that goes between my knees so I can sleep without tendinitis pain
2. Nuts to nibble on
1. Possibly cheating, as she is not a 'thing,' but: My cat

Yeah, she wasn't too happy with me for being away, either. I am one of her favorite warm spots.

When the spouse was little, his family had a cat who loved to travel. She'd ride along in their RV. She saw the Grand Canyon.

My cat would not like to travel. The kidlet tried to get her to walk on a leash and harness once, and she wouldn't even go down the stairs.

When we launched this commuter marriage experiment, I sent the family cat with the spouse so he wouldn't get lonely, and it took less than a year for the universe to provide me with my own cat.

I used to say I wished I could bring her to work with me, and now I work from home, so there's one wish granted.

Nuts are excellent. A handful of walnuts a day can lower cholesterol quite effectively. It's been scienced!

Aside from the pillow these are all super relatable. (I don’t do cream but I need specific types of milk…and vanilla syrup.)

How about 21: because it puts me in mind of blackjack, do you play any card or board games regularly? Or videogames? top 5 games?

I regret allowing myself to become picky about coffee, because it means I can only really enjoy it in my own house.
