(Having said that, I mostly remember Cheery Littlebottom as the not-assumed-male dwarf on the Watch, with... little other rememberance of Cheery's backstory. But for 500 words, canon shouldn't be a huge issue.)
It's funny how I think I don't remember it well, but there's a lot of trivia stored away when I think of it. Like Sybil's love for dragons, and Vimes' occasional need to follow his wife's social cues. *laughs*

I love the Tiffany books! But I just finished reading "The Fifth Elephant" again, so the Watch were on my mind.
