[livejournal.com profile] pearl_o asked for Due South threesomes, so I gave her ... well, a twosome, actually, but it approaches the state of threesomeness:

Transition
Fraser/Kowalski -- R -- 4K

In return, I asked her for an Asylum snippet, and she came through magnificently.

Also, I've very belatedly put up three snippets that I did for [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction last year:

Getting the Message (G)
Potluck (G)
Explanatory Notes (NC-17)

And in closing, may I just say that I really, really hate haiku.

First: I know NOTHING about Due South, other than that it has some guys -- some of whom apparently have the same name -- and some dogs -- or wolves? -- and some Canadian Mounties. I think. But you could write stories about names you picked out of the phone book, and I would read them. And love them, the way I love this.

Second: I have to confess what a huge, gigantic, enormous idiot I am. I've been thinking for the longest time that I just couldn't get to your stories, because when I go to your site, all I get is this blank page, right? I mean, the stories have a header, and some words, but then. . . nothing.

Yeah. I'm an idiot.

I never actually read the WORDS in the header that instruct me to SCROLL DOWN. Until tonight. Man, am I dumb. I think I failed the You Are Too Stupid To Read This Story test. But now I get to actually go read the yummy Ron/Harryness. Yummity yum.

That's a haiku, right? *g*

Nice. Very hot, in a twisted sort of way. I think I should go read more of your stories now.

OOh, I'll take your dS in whatever length and form I can get them. Transition made me tingly. :)

While I'm here, can I ask you, oh writer of my favorite HP story EVER (that would be Tranfigurations, in case you wondered), to recommend your favorite meaty HP stories? I love long, plotty stories with excellent characterization, and dang it, I'm just not finding as many as I'd like. Can you help?

Hey, I thought I'd sent you an e-mail pointing that out. Don't tell me your new e-mail address is rejecting all my advances, too.

Anyway, let's hope the scroll-down warning system will stymie anybody who wanders in by accident. Don't want to be responsible for scarring anyone for life.

And I'm glad you liked the snippet. And you really need to get up to date on Due South, because it's got some of the hottest slash in the known universe.

Hm. I'm not sure how helpful I'm going to be, since I myself prefer short-and-smutty, but here are some of the writers I can wholeheartedly recommend:

Tradescant. (http://www.subumbra.com/tradescant/fanfiction.html) Most of her work is very short, but stinging. "Fidelius" and "Secret Keeper" are longer than most, and I adore them.

All of Ellen Fremedon's (http://www.geocities.com/ellen_fremedon/) stuff, especially "Slowly But Exceeding Fine."

Helen's (http://www.helenish.net/stories.html) Harry/Ron and Ron/Draco.

Calico and Julad's (http://yearningvoid.net/julad/) "Lustre."

Nothing that Nope (http://nopespace.com/) writes is long, but it all unpacks to be much bigger than it looks.

Predatrix. (http://predatrix.slashcity.org/fiction/index2.html) Especially "Occasional Table."

Sam (http://www.snoo.org/oojahs/frontpage.htm) is always competent and often brilliant.

Sinope (http://sinope.hackmode.org/) has amazing insights about the James Potter generation.

<a href="http://fabularasa.arithmancy.net/>Fabula Rasa</a> is reliably brain-cell-killing hot. I can't find a link for Dolores Crane's "Crucius," but if you can track it down, it's terrific. I think she did another one that was equally terrific but more depressing, so I didn't save it. And on the whole I'm not enthusiastic about Seeker, but I loved "Potio," so that's another one to look for.

Oh, and of course the HP stories torch has done, especially "A Spirit of Brotherhood." Except that she left out the last chapter where they all fuck. Other than that, it was perfect.
