I bought the Light Seer deck this winter, and it isn't working for me somehow. It's a perfectly good deck, but I'm not connecting with it.

It's a contemporary deck with decent racial diversity, but I'll warn you upfront that everyone in it seems very young; that might be why I can't relax into it. You can see some of the cards at the Comparative Tarot tumblr. I have deck, book, and original box.

I always worry that I'm giving unfair advantage to people in the same time zone as me, so how about an anonymous ranked-choice poll? Let's see how this works. Responses should be anonymous. I'll keep it open for 24 hours and then contact the winner.

No one wanted it, so I gave it to a thrift shop.

It's very pretty, but maybe a bit too traditionally "alternative" for me. And the woman pregnant with Earth is mildly worrying! Also text is too casual for me - I like a bit more design and structure. I'm sure someone will want it though.

I have a track record of getting tarot decks then going off them, like Rider-Waite (as a teen) and the Thoth tarot later. I was thinking I liked the deck from "Live and Let Die" (Tarot of the witches) and I still do, but on checking it's also very white, which I hadn't realised. I had the Badger's Forest deck but it's really just a vehicle for lovely art of woodland animals, only tenuous links to Tarot symbolism.

You might like Tarot of the Cat People or the Voyager tarot.

I enjoyed seeing the pix of your deck as I am always interested in what's going on with tarot but it's not one I would use personally. I would hate for it to just sit on a shelf here.

I took the poll to see if it worked, which it does, although I admit I didn't understand how the ranking worked until I saw it post-answer. It shows up as two lines of text with a third horizontal line of numbers next to "sure, I'll take it" before you answer.

To confirm, I'm not interested in the deck; I was mostly coming here to agree that the people all look like twenty-year-olds and I question their wisdom.

Do you have recs for decks with older figures? That are not too white and too wise old witchy?

I had a tarot obsession phase a while back and drowned in an abundance of gaps. So many zillions of decks but even the ones touted as "diverse" or whatever still had slim young white women with flowing hair with a sprinkling of similarly slim young others and the occasional "wise crone". Also they all favoured heterosexuality, especially in the Lovers and the 2 of cups. I ended up with an animal tarot. I didn't even want any sexuality!
