resonant: It feels so good. (So good)
Or, in other words, my new iBook is here! I can retire my poor old PowerBook, which is only three years old but looks like it belonged to a war correspondent. Along with the bungee cord I have to use to use to hold it shut because the clasp is broken.

The iBook is adorable. It's about the size of a biggish library book (and yet the keyboard is the same size as the one on the PowerBook). It's shiny and white like an imperial soldier from Star Wars. And because of the way technology moves along, it's noticeably faster than the PowerBook, even though the PowerBook was halfway up the top tier of laptops at the time, and this one is at the very bottom of the bottom tier.

And! the iBook is AirPort-enabled, and my coffee shop has broadband, which means that I can actually download a song in less than twenty minutes! I can download vids! I can download episodes, which means I can get caught up on this season of SGA and actually rejoin the fandom.

Which brings me to the begging part of the post: Can anyone tell me where to find SGA season 2 eps?

Can I tell you how amazingly impressed I am with Apple just now? I turned on the iBook, and it said, "Do you want to transfer files from another Mac?" and I clicked Yes and hooked up a FireWire cable, and an hour later* everything was on the new computer. Everything. Files, including everything that had been randomly scattered all over the desktop. Bookmarks. Mail rules and folders. Preferences. Passwords. Applications. It was as if I just poured the old computer into the new one. Totally seamless.

I'm less impressed with FedEx. Instead of requiring a signature, they just left the computer on the side porch. Evidently we weren't home when it arrived, and the driver decided that coming back was more trouble than it was worth, so he/she just signed my first initial and last name. I spent a couple of hours in an absolute panic thinking it had been stolen, because the FedEx tracking website said it had been signed for, but we hadn't seen it -- and then I happened to look out the window and see the box out there.

* It's not Apple's fault that it took so long. It's on account of that 14GB of music.
