More than a week's worth of questions left for claiming at the original post.
The first fictional crush I can remember having was on Ursula LeGuin's Sparrowhawk, and he may have been the source for my most enduring fictional type: smart, solitary, heavily emotionally guarded, a deep well of loneliness surrounded by stone walls. Sherlock Holmes, Severus Snape, Benton Fraser ... need I say more?
BBC Sherlock is a jackpot because it's got two of them. And Sherlock is great fun to watch, and great fun to write, but in this variant of the Sherlock Holmes mythos, John Watson is the one I want to lick.
