Does anybody else look at Mary Jane's Farm and think, "That looks like it wants to be smut"? All those sunburned, tousle-haired women in homespun who seem to be living in a world without guys or motor vehicles? I've picked up the magazine a few times in bookstores, and I always think that the girl who's riding on a tractor while wearing a white eyelet blouse probably went back and grabbed the one who's bicycling in suspenders and a straw hat, and they had loads of great sex on a quilt that they pieced themselves. And then got up and milked the cows.

In other news, I'm at faviconResonant on AO3, and if you subscribe to me, you can anticipate ... hm, it's pretty much all Sherlock on the front burner at the moment, except in the very unlikely event that I actually follow through with my idea of slashing the frame story from the book The Illustrated Man.

That's amazing. I mean, you said organic slow-food utopia, and then awesome subtext.

How can I want for anything more ;)

nope. You're just a big old perv.

Mind you I kind of wonder if she's having sex with her farm (yes, I mean the various veggies, and farm equipment), but that's 'cause I'm really weird.

Also, it's the 'oh my!' and the 'oh yes!' and then, then the Chat with Farmgirls online!" That's wonderful.

Also, where do I sign up to be part of this lesbian, organic, slow-food utopia? :D

That's lovely, but why is MaryJane calling them farmgirls as opposed to, you know, "farmers"?

...it's like the lesbian separatist commune of my only-half-joking dreams. Except in mine not everyone would have to be white.

In other news, I moved the chickens out of my office and into the back yard this week! I have high hopes that my office will soon stop smelling chickeny.

I love your thoughts. And now I share them. *g*

Oh God. I have loads of giggles. I grew up on a farm in the 70's - mostly organic, although it was just called 'crofting' back then. Until my brother came along, the only man on the farm was my aging father (he was 63 when he finally got a son, after going through 2 wives and having 4 daughters). We all ran about in dungarees, our pigtails bouncing as we piled onto the back of the tractor to be taken back to the farmhouse where our mother baked her own bread and grew her own veggies.

And the best bit... my name really is Mary Jane.
