resonantEvery now and then life just tells you to get over yourself a little bit.
My kid (three and a half) was playing in the kiddie pool at the gym, which has three fountains in it. They straddled a fountain, and their swimsuit made the water arc out in front and behind. They said, delightedly, "Come and yook at my horse!"
I bent down close and said, "You know, in the old stories, Poseidon was the god of the sea. And they also said he was the god of horses, because he GACK SPTTT!" -- because at that moment they had stepped off the fountain, and my lecture was interrupted by a faceful of pool water.
