December Daily: Fanfic Oscar

lazaefair -- You’ve just won a Fanfic Oscar. Who do you thank in your acceptance speech and why? And what music do they play you off with?

Fun prompt! Makes me wish I kept better records. If I wanted to start at the beginning, I'd have to thank the editors of a zine called Science Friction, which was my first introduction to slash, and torch, who was my first introduction to really good slash. Then would come sigridthehaughty (whom I've sadly lost track of) and liviapenn, who seems not to be active in DW any more, and cesperanza and julad and astolat and fox, and and and ... at that point the orchestra strikes up Third Eye Blind's "Never Let You Go" as the first of many songs that ever inspired a story, and away I go to forget some more people's names.

This really makes me wish I still could stay up late in chat and still get up early in the morning!

That's my last prompt for the year. I wish everyone the best possible 2020. Hang in there.
