They were thinking that the pilot belongs to a different production company. ;) The same thing is true of Twin Peaks - all the series but the pilot is on DVD.
Well we're (collective fandom people) are hoping it will get released at some point - although TPTB did piss off a number of people by not including it with season 1, plus the garb on amazon/hmv didn't specify the pilot wasn't there, just all 22 eps. Which for people like me, who only vaguely remember s1 from when it was on tv, meant nothing because I somewhat naively thought the pilot would be included in the 22. *sigh*
Maybe if we all wrote TPTB and begged politely for it?

Maybe they'll release it on DVD once all the seasons are out and they want to milk a few extra bucks out of us. Of course, I'll buy it anyway. *G*
