Yep, another allergist story. I'm down to every two weeks, now, but I'm sure life will hand me lots of other opportunities to sit around in waiting rooms ...
A heads up for you, though... on that master list of ficlet links the link to this latest Snape/Harry is incorrect. You have it listed as "tricksgter.org" or something similar.
God bless your allergies, Res, if it produces smut like this! These are tiny nuggets of sexy goodness, and I'm just pouncing upon each one with absolute delight.
I keep thinking I've given you feedback on Telemachos, and I do not think I have.
Which is a bloody crime, because *deep breath*
I want to marry this fic and die tragically in childbirth having its babies. It is just utterly beautifully done. In character, in period, in voice. And with a sense of historicity to it that is breathtaking. I may have in my time as a sailslasher have muttered here and there about my deep and urgent desire for a sense of Queer History, something that tells my black little soul that yes, men cared for each other and went to bed and got away with it cold, yea unto every generation, and it was good?
This, I am now persuaded by the sheer goodness of the writing, this is precisely and exactly what it was like to be a Captain being hit on by a junior officer, remembering being a junior officer hitting on a Captain.
It makes me smile, and it makes me tear up a little, and on top of that it is hot as Hell.
Aww. That's so nice to hear! I really never had any intention of writing Hornblower slash, but it sort of wrote itself for me.
cesperanza, who's sort of an expert in queer history, read it over for me. She was arguing for a little less tenderness and a little more of a sense of entitlement, if I remember correctly. I didn't follow her advice partly because it seemed out of character for Horatio in particular and partly because ... well, it's just sexier this way, even if it's not so realistic.
Great - just great! *snickers* And funny - so funny! That was one brilliant Snape, one poor Harry in dire straits, and I adored the little touches (no pun intended, really!); the sensitivity of the wand hand, Snape sounding *bored* of all things at the beginning, ""You do understand, do you not...", and the Snape smugness at the end. Not to mention the exit line itself! *snickers more*
i would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to your histamines and your allergist for combining to provoke you to these wonderful tiny!smuts. i think you've singlehandedly dragged me into due south slash, which i've been resisting for some time, although i now seem to have forgotten why. mmmmmmmrayk...
um, may i friend you? (of course, no need to friend back.)

Please, ma'am, may I have another?
(You realize it's your fault I even read Snarry in the first place, let alone wrote 100,000 fucking words of it, don't you? *g*)
