Translation question

OK, this is something I really ought to have kept track of myself, but I didn't.

I've had a request to translate Transfigurations into Russian. I could swear that's already been done, but I can't find it, and naturally I can't remember who would have done it.

Is anyone out there aware of a translation of Transfig into Russian? If not, I'll give this new translator a go-ahead.

I really ought to keep a record of this stuff.

Well, the biggest Russian site for translations of fic is probably fanrus.com. You could contact the administrator at anni @ fanrus.com and ask if there's a translation linked there.

Heh, actually, they just sent me email with a link to my "author's page" at fanrus, so I just searched for you, and you're not there. So at least there isn't a translation at fanrus.

Well, I'm not the best person to ask 'cos I have next to no knowledge of Russian HP fandom, but at least I can read Russian. My search right now didn't bring up any positive results, that is, I didn't find it on-line anywhere in Russian -- but, again, I'm not the best 'seeker.' But the all-fandom sourse table of the fics that are being translated (or were said to be translated at some moment in time) says that Transfigurations are being translated by one Shade, mail to: shade_l@list.ru The claim seems anscient though, 2004-05-29.

Btw, while searching, I saw The Familiar translated by one Leyli. Did you give them permission? The translation is published here:

Which is a pity, really, 'cos it's easy to find heads, tails or other parts of things when working with Fanrus -- it's well-organizied.

But I think maybe it would be wise to contact anni anyway and ask her 'cos I bet she knows things in Russian fandom and in the translation business in it in particular.
