On the plus side, kidlet's school vacation ended yesterday, so I get my afternoons back. I'll be wildly productive. I'll get so much writing done. Soon as I catch up on reading two weeks' worth of [livejournal.com profile] ds_flashfiction, [livejournal.com profile] hp100, my friends list, and, what is it, three fests? four?

On the minus side, the in-laws arrive today for a long visit. At least, I think it's today; they won't tell us for sure. How long of a visit? They can't be pinned down. At least they won't be staying in the house with us. Good argument for not cleaning out the guest room after all.

Oh, and when I came home this afternoon I learned that water to our house will be cut off till four o'clock, and after that we'll have a boil order in effect until Friday. So much for all that laundry I was planning on doing.

*giggle* Sounds like my plans. ^_^ I'll do laundry! I'll clean! I'll play a little EverQuest: hang out with my old friends, work on getting 58 and that new heal spell. Just as soon as I finish catching up on LJ. And email. Oh, and I've gotta check my WIPs bookmarks!

A boil order is where one day a water main breaks in your neighborhood, and the next day you get a little yellow card on your door that says, "Sorry, but you won't have any running water from 10 this morning and 4 this afternoon, and after that you'll need to boil any water you use for drinking or cooking until Friday evening or until we tell you the water is safe again, whichever comes first."

And after that you spend a couple of hours thinking, "Hey! I'm just like Ma in Little House in the Big Woods," until your mind helpfully points out that, while Ma didn't have running water, she also didn't get to go to the supermarket and buy drinkable water in plastic jugs, either.

Off topic, but have you seen this new HP resource site?

http://justacat.slashcity.org/HP/HPAuth4.html

Scroll down to your name - there's a list of all the sites that have rec'd your stories, and 'The Familiar' has the largest number of recs that I've yet seen on the site.

It's nice to see people recognise excellence ... ;)

Cool! I've seen it, and it's lovely. Introduced me to some brand-new rec sites, too.

Which fests are you catching up on? I've been so buried, I haven't really heard of any new ones other than the most recent SS FQF wave.
