I felt like yesterday was a pretty good day, but it's also true that yesterday was a day when I tried to exit a coffee shop restroom and the handle came off in my hand.

Meanwhile, I somehow managed to lock myself inside the bathroom at my kid's psychologist's office, and had to knock until someone came to let me out.

Bathrooms are dangerous.

That sounds like a good day for you- you did manage to exit the restroom, right?- and a bad day for the coffee shop. :)

LOL. Not funny but funny! Did you have to bang to be let out? Was it a sign to stay put??

Yes! That must have been awful. I'm not claustrophobic, but being scared when locked in a small room is perfectly rational.

When I brought the broken handle up to the cashier, he said, "Again?"

I had my phone in my pocket. I'm new to the whole smartphone thing, and it felt very futuristic to know that if I needed to, I could look them up on the internet, get their phone number, call it, and say, "Hey, I'm calling from your bathroom -- could you come let me out?"

But in fact I was able to get a grip on the stem the handle had come off of and open the door that way.

this is the sort of things I have nightmares about precisely because it is *so* likely to happen to me.

Freshman year of college, I met up with the spouse (well, the boyfriend, then) in the lobby of the journalism building, and as we parted, the handles of our umbrellas hooked together and we nearly fell down. I remember one wizened old journalism professor watching this spectacle and shaking his head.
