A lot of my fannish interaction on a daily basis takes place via Discord, which is like the olden IRC chats but FANCY (and retains infinite backscroll so you can go find where you plotted out that one entire AU over the course of 8 hours). Are you feeling fannish about anything in particular?
Dreamwidth had something of a renaissance about a year ago (Tumblr was being a *particular* butt), so many of us are trying to post actively here again.
Fandoms I have been in over the past year:
Guardian, a Chinese webdrama. Good Omens (currently rules my brain). Re-watching Highlander on Zoom with some of the old gang & some new.
MANY people have fallen hard for The Untamed, another Chinese webdrama (see goss's icon above).
A lot of people are on Discord or Slacks, but not all. What are you interested in these days?
I finally caved and made a Tumblr so I can participate in Les Mis fandom, since that's where it is now. It is really weird to be getting my feet wet in a new fandom again, but it's good weird.
I think, much like growing up, it's just something that happens to you more than something that you do. I did it a couple of years ago and look! Here you are now! Right on time.
Seconding fandomcalendar as a great resource to see what's going on in fandom. Multifandom exchanges hosted on DW/AO3 have become a particularly active thing over the last several years, and I really enjoy that scene. Lots of opportunities to participate even if you're not deeply into one particular fandom. multifandomdrabble is just about to get underway, and could be a good low-commitment way to step back in.
Eh -- not really. Historically, I tended to get fannish about things that people in fandom were being fannish about around me, which is my difficulty here. I'm reading all the old stuff plus Witcher. I have story ideas around Natasha Pulley's Watchmaker of Filigree Street/Lost Future of Pepperharrow novels, which have a fandom that could fit in a midsize Denny's and literally 70 stories on AO3, so I'm not absorbing a lot of fannish energy there.

Date: 6/5/20 06:44 pm (UTC)I had a long, semi-involuntary gafiation and it does feel weird coming back. But, in my experience, also nice. People will be glad to see you back.
