This week's newsletter from my CSA says, "Carrot tops are edible if you're up for a challenge." But then so is everything.

Similar to the adage "Everything is a dildo if you're brave enough."

Ughghghhgghghgh I tried carrot top pesto. Twice. Waste of good pine nuts.

Random reply, but I discovered radish greens pesto using almonds. I love it. I'm too poor for pine nuts. :)

Radish greens are DELICIOUS. I first discovered them in an Indian cookbook. I think I like them better than radishes.

I can no longer afford pine nuts either. laugh

I love both radishes and radish greens, too. Seriously underrated root veg.

I randomly discovered (due to getting a LOT of radishes in a farm share) that roasted radishes are INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. Cut off top/roots, peel them, and roast with olive oil/salt/pepper. Game changer. (I'm not assuming you don't know this, but you just reminded me. :)

They are one of my favorite vegetables. I love them fresh, chopped and tossed over pasta, slivered in potato salad. My sister roasts them for an evening snack. They ARE delicious. My daughter just recently used them instead of potatoes in stew. I wasn't able to grow any this year, but it makes me happy that I can use both the root and the greens. :) I'm now going to have to try carrot greens in some fashion though.

Seriously, radishes are so underrated. Love the idea of using them in stew!

That's a shame. Thank you for the warning! I've roasted carrots with the tops on before, and that was pretty good, IMO. Edit: I also think they're pretty good just chopped up in a salad.
