I randomly discovered (due to getting a LOT of radishes in a farm share) that roasted radishes are INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. Cut off top/roots, peel them, and roast with olive oil/salt/pepper. Game changer. (I'm not assuming you don't know this, but you just reminded me. :)
They are one of my favorite vegetables. I love them fresh, chopped and tossed over pasta, slivered in potato salad. My sister roasts them for an evening snack. They ARE delicious. My daughter just recently used them instead of potatoes in stew. I wasn't able to grow any this year, but it makes me happy that I can use both the root and the greens. :) I'm now going to have to try carrot greens in some fashion though.
That's a shame. Thank you for the warning! I've roasted carrots with the tops on before, and that was pretty good, IMO. Edit: I also think they're pretty good just chopped up in a salad.
