For a writing project I'm working on, I need to collect spam. Lots of spam, the widest possible variety.

This turns out to be more trouble than I had expected. I got myself a pristine new Hotmail address, and started going around signing up for sweepstakes and taking surveys and such, but I can see it's going to be slow going.

So I'm going to throw this open to my flist: Can you help me get [e-mail address redacted] spaminated?

I don't want you to forward me your spam, because if I'm not mistaken, doing that will make you get more spam, and I don't want that. But if you want to sign up for something, or post the address somewhere for the spambots to get it, or anything you can think of, by all means do so. (In the unlikely event that anyone actually wins a sweepstakes with this address, I promise I won't snatch the prize from you.)

I tried to sign you up for the Free iPods page, which brings lots of lovely spam, but I'm not sure it went through. The server choked.

I registered you for some of the "free" gift cards, which should start spamming you in about thirty seconds.

Forward a bigfoot address to your hotmail account. While bigfoot's spam filter is 100% effective at blocking lj post notifications, in one week that address jumped to my most frequent source of phishing.

have used that address to send that address an article from the washington post. you *shouldn't* get spam for that reason, but who knows.

i'll send you my travel itinerary if you want (and will delete it to neverwhere soon-like), 'cause i know you can get spam from expedia.

A daily dose of gay p0rn coming at you. Also, I used your email adress on one of the "click here to be unsubcribed" links in my spam box.

I thought that posting your email address out there on a webpage was a good way to get spam. It's certainly worked for us, although maybe not in the quantity that you hope for.

I know that posting to Usenet will get you lots of spam, but I don't know how long that takes.

I am evil, and belong to a number of mailing lists, all of which will send you spam, I'm sure, now that you are on them, too. Lots of book or author related spam to help.

Just spray that address around; post it as many times and in as many places as you can. (I'll help: nothingunderhand@hotmail.com ). Spiders crawl the Internet for valid e-mail addresses every day; if you post a valid, unmangled address as much as you can, within a few weeks you should be just about drowning.

I trawled around and signed up for several newsletters etc. with this address. Some may need verification. Some *claim* to keep the email private, but who knows if they really do?

Good luck on your project!

Despite your instructions NOT to do so, I just forwarded you some spam from my work account. I get more than 300 pieces of spam each day (I shit you not), so how much worse could it get? Thank god our spambots here are pretty good, so I never see it unless I go looking for it. I'll keep forwarding for the rest of the day, unless you want me to stop.

Lots of drugspam coming your way, as well as mortgage approvals and the occasional randy housewife.

Porn, free offers, and sex toys should be sent your way. :) I heard of a site awhile ago that signed you up for a bunch of spam lists all at once without confirmation, but I think it's (thankfully!) gone from the web by now.

Wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy...

You just sent and received several greeting cards from various sites, with all the optional "yes, please send me more junk" boxes ticked.

Honestly, I can't wait to see what sort of project is going to come out of this.

That was oddly fun -- I felt like I was slutting around on the web. I signed you up for a free tripod account (and I ticked all the 'I am interested in...' boxes!)

I'm going to enter that address in all of the "unsubscribe" boxes at the ends of my spam. :D

I can hardly wait to see how this is going to be used.

Sign up for a free trial of AIM/AOL. It'll all be over, then. Although be careful, you mind find some viruses (viri?) amongst all the spammages...
