I hope I don't jinx myself, but I think I'm closing in on "Transfigurations" (a.k.a. the Damned H/D Epic).

I'm closer to a full draft than I've ever been -- and even though I have sections which consist only of notes (**fuck and then immediately fight**), at least they're all in the right places for a change.

And if I wasn't permitted to hear "This problem could be solved by making the story shorter," at least I got to hear the next-best thing: "This problem could be solved by adding more sex."

Whoooo!

Any solution which involves more sex is one I can't help but favor. Even if you are writing a pairing I'd ordinarily flee from. :-)

You wound me, madam. [back of hand to forehead]

I've already sacrificed Harry speaking Spanish to the chupacabras (unless I can find a way to sneak that back in), not to mention a visit to Florida, a quick trip through the Oasis (the wizarding neighborhood of Manchester), Sasquatch sign language, and a farting charm. Surely this proves my willingness to do whatever I have to do to get the damned thing done.

dude. it made enough of a difference that you had to sacrifice a farting charm? that's a damn shame, is what that is ...

OH MY GOD NO! NOT THE CHUPACABRAS!!!

Sorry--X-Files flashback there. Severus has a restorative potion for me; I'll be fine.

woo-hoo!

Oh, I'm so glad you're in the home stretch. I was afraid you'd picked up a new obsession or something, and the only thing we'd have to cling to would be the three best stories in the fandom. :)

/me breaks out pompoms, confetti, Gatorade for the finish line....

Well, hell, you two have done everything you could short of actually writing the thing yourselves.

wow. you're writing h/d?

*stares*

i'm looking forward to reading that, i think. The Familiar was brilliant and...well...while I've never quite believed h/d was possible, I think you have the talent to pull it off.

Hm. wow. Congratulations.

Well, we'll see. Hope to merit your trust. Part of the hold-up has been the necessity of writing the six years' worth of backstory required to make me believe H/D is possible. ("The Familiar," along with all the other HP I've written, was simply procrastinating when I should have been working on "Transfigurations.")
