Oh God. Guh. This is... so, so perfect. So hot, and there's just so much feeling in so few words, especially at the end. Just the thought of Rodney laying awake at night, thinking up new ways to make John feel good...

I am probably reading way too much into this, but in the backstory to this that lives in my head, Rodney is kind of afraid that John is going to get bored with him and move on, so he tries to keep John's interest awake by, well, being creative and the best lover John's ever had. (Also, it turs him on like crazy, of course.) And maybe he isn't quite as secure about these things as he pretends he is, and he quietly freaks out a lot, afraid that maybe this time John isn't going to like it, or that he'll go too far or something...

Anyway, I love this story like I can't even say. It took me twice as long to read it, because I read pretty much every paragraph twice, just enjoying your amazing way with words. There were so many incredibly hot images that will never ever leave my mind again - John sitting with his cock showing through his boxers, and Rodney counting while John is getting himself off, and... you've possibly give me a complete new set of kinks, here.

You know, each time I think your writing has reached the pinnacle of hotness, you prove me so, so wrong.

And yet, with all of that omgsohotness, the fact that it's kissing Rodney that makes John come is just so *perfect*.

It's always such a thrill when you post a new story. In my fantasy reading world, I'll wake up one morning and you'll have posted a gigantic story and I will be SO HAPPY!

Seriously, the fanreader in me wants to goldleaf every sentence in this story, or at least, work it up into a mandatory powerpoint presentation for every newbie aspiring smut writer, and then grab my LaserPointer of Doom:

Here! See this sentence which subtly reveals the inner vulnerability/motivation of the character, creates something new in the relationship, and happens to occur while (screamingly hot) sex is going on? That's what you should be aiming for in your writing!

I actually really wish that was possible. I've gotten pretty good at figuring out what separates really good and engaging stories from stories that have a good plot but are still just kind of boring. But I can't for the life of me see what exactly it is that separates Resonant's blindingly hot sex scenes from unengaging and un-hot sex scenes. I just wish there was some receipe that I could steal and apply to my own writing, but alas, I have no idea what it is. If someone managed to anylyse it and turn it into an informative powerpoint presentation, I'd be so happy. But I'm afraid it's just this elusive little thing called "real talent". *sigh*

wow. I, yes, thoroughly enjoyed that. In fact, it made my stomach do that thing. But it was also a set of two heartbreakingly fabulous characterizations, revealed *through* porn, which is the hardest thing to do. Awesome.

My favorite parts: (1) that it turns John on that it turns Rodney on to see him, at the beginning; (2) that Rodney lies around thinking about things to do to him, uhuh, that's what I'm talking about; (3) that John is so helpless in the face of Rodney's focus and so happy about it.
