Hallow.

A little Halloween candy.

My idea of perfection in a short PWP -- the thing I'm aspiring to when I write things like Hallow and Juncture -- is Shrift's F/K "boot porn," Footnotes. It's hot, it's funny, it's insightful, it's important -- there's really something at stake, and the relationship at the end of the story is different, in a significant way, from the one at the beginning of the story.

It's 6K.

Perfectly amazing.

Hope you don't mind - followed your sig to your LJ. And what a sucky time you've had of it. Sorry about the job. It's always nicer to leave willingly even if you hated a place. But (cliche as it is) one door closes, another opens, write the novel. Do. Hallow. I really like this - the tautness of the writing, the way the story takes flesh and colour with no wasted words. Even without knowing the characters the sense of who each is comes out. Um. I'm going to friend you. Just because.

Of course I don't mind! Happy to see you. And thanks for the encouragement, and thanks for your kind words about "Hallow," too.

I think you've achieved your goal. I really liked this story (and was so happy when I saw the announcement for it!). "Hallow" conveys a real sense of home and security, and as the last words of your story stated -- that they have all the time in the world.

Don't think it's quite up to "Footnotes" standards, but I'm really happy you liked it!

Yes, I was thinking about Kellie's story, too, while I was writing this. Glad you liked it!
