For [livejournal.com profile] mutecornett, in exchange for three beautiful icons (which I didn't dare let myself upload until I had her smutlet up!):

Poltergeist
McKay/Sheppard -- NC-17 -- 520 words
"Sleep to sex in under ten seconds. Maybe I'm not sorry I woke you after all."

Beta thanks to [livejournal.com profile] astolat and [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza.

(I also updated the website with another SGA smutlet first published on [livejournal.com profile] merrymakings: Knowing.)

Oh, that was delicious. I liked the emotional underpinning as much as the smut.

Thanks! I always try to get them both in there -- the emotions and the sex -- and sometimes they don't want to cooperate!

Aw, that is so sweet! Scary apologetic ghost.

(BTW, you should put a feedback link on your page coz I guessed your LJ and went to the LJ of a gay male who does, very politely, tell everyone to come here. Snert.)

The tactile cool/warm and the way their temperatures gradually align, and Rodney's always fast and greedy the first time, but if there's a second time, he likes to take the scenic route, and the way staying the night turns out to be a big deal but it's a bigger deal that it isn't a big deal, so there is no big deal, just them ... love. :-)

It wasn't a big deal. That's the big deal.

I LOVE YOU FOREVER.

I'm particularly amazed that you were able to make the ghost/poltergeist thing work so beautifully! Without it being sad at all! And god, there's such sensuality in the words. It's all described so lightly and deftly, and this has totally made MY YEAR and I'm going to gibber in excitement for the foreseeable future!!

EEEEEEE. IT IS PERFECT.

Oh, I'm so glad you liked it! I realize I didn't do much with the ghost theme, because, yes, all the ideas I had that were more on topic were just sad and depressing, and I'm self-indulgent and don't want to write sad and depressing things!

I'm so glad. And I adore the icons. I've been refusing to let myself upload them until I had the piece written, so now I get to use them!

I'm actually a little teary. I want to say, "I love how John's done being scared," except that makes me feel like a bad disco tune. This is very sweet, though.

Oh, I'm so glad that came across. I actually felt like it was a very big deal, except that in order for John to be there in the first place, it would have to have sneaked up on him so stealthily that by the time he realized it was a big deal (maybe exactly at the moment in the story), it was already done and too late to panic.

Lovely as ever. In such a short space you say so much about what they are to each other and in such lovely language--sleepy sweet and alliterative "loose, lush, soft-tongued suck." These felt like companion pieces--the worked-open rush of Knowing (man that got me where I live like you always do), the vulnerability, terrifying and longed for of being known and then the realization that there's nothing to fear, the big deal that's not.

the vulnerability, terrifying and longed for of being known and then the realization that there's nothing to fear

That for me is the sexiest thing, the most moving thing, and I'm always trying to get that across, so I'm thrilled that it was in there and not just in my head!

In 520 words you shouldn't be able to fit as many emotional layers as has been peeled away in this little snippet. That you manage to, with such a subtle hand, is one reason I go into a tailspin when you post a story. This was lovely - thank you.

Oh, that's great! I always hope they come across as themselves, and with Rodney it's pretty easy because it's all in the speech patterns and the prickliness, but John's trickier.
