Oh! Beautiful computer, never leave me again! Yes, the original problem recurred, and this time it had to be sent in for service. I was computerless for four long days, my friends, and I may bear the scars forever.

Eventually I'll spam you all with demands that you help me with my Christmas menu and discuss options for backing up music files, but for now I just want to look with joy at my imaginary friends and all their lovely smut. How I've missed you.

I'm not much with the smut lately, but I feel almost as though I should dust off my smutty keyboard to welcome you back.

It's good to see you!

That's exactly what I imagined you saying.

You feel totally adrift when the computer is gone, don't you. It's amazing how much it's taken over so much of your life. I feel the same way only when my car is in the shop.

Are you kidding? Even music-related RPS fandoms scare me off because the canon is too big and unmanageable. Can you imagine trying to get a grip on the canon for all of you people?

I love that you call us imaginary friends -
that's totally what my flist is to me - and actually, the more I learn about someone, the more they seem like an IMPORTANT imaginary friend (as opposed to starting to seem like a real person.)

Sociopathic? Perhaps. But in the nicest possible way, I promise.

I imagine that you have a bright sunny kitchen, with daisies on the wall paper, and the kidlet comes up past your waist, and has pin-straight shining hair, the color that is often (unfairly) referred to as dirty-blond.

Yes! The really significant imaginary friends, who are always the first ones to call you when you get a new toy phone that rings when you push a button. (When the kidlet was a toddler, the person she talked to on the toy phone was always Moldywarp, a mole who plays a minor role in Little Grey Rabbit's Christmas.)

I like your image of me! You've got the kidlet exactly right; she comes up past my armpit, even, and she refers to her hair as "honey-colored." I wish my kitchen were more bright and more sunny and less full of things that are almost broken and can't be repaired, but we do what we can.

Poor baby! Four smutless days? How did you survive?

I'm so happy you're back now, safely among your smutty friends.
