So anybody else who has that awful stomach virus, be reassured: it only lasts about 24 hours. Evidently it's an excellent core-muscle workout, throwing up every hour on the half-hour; now I've got sore muscles that twinge when I sneeze, cough, or blow my nose.

It was weird, and possibly TMI: I had my period, and then ... I didn't any more. Like: Tuesday: blood. Wednesday: no blood. Thursday: blood. Evidently the rest of my body said to my reproductive system, "Damn it, we don't have any moisture to spare for this nonsense now."

Thanks for all your sympathies. Glad you're not close enough that I could infect you.

This is a short sickness with a long tail -- I'm still eating Campbell's chicken soup instead of real food. And I don't feel safe with coffee! [sob]

I hate to even have to ask but...do you know who you got it from, and how long it took to develop? This same virus seems to be making the rounds at work, and I am curious to know how long I have to be healthy before I know I am in the clear. I have a few delicate friends and relatives and I want to be sure I won't be unknowingly bringing them this kind of sickness.

I wish I could tell you, but I don't remember hearing anybody talk about one like this. The illness that's going around the office involves coughing and sinus problems, not throwing up. (Well, I guess the throwing up one is going around the office now -- the custodian was out sick with it today.)

Having come down with this same thing on Tuesday night, I -- quite literally -- feel your pain. I am back at work today, and the ride in was exhausting. This is the nastiest bug I can ever remember getting! Glad you're feeling better, too.

It's ugly, isn't it? And of course the spouse had it two days later, and of course that was the day the ice storm knocked out the power for eight hours, so that I was all stressing out wondering who we could go stay with if the heat didn't come back on -- I mean, who do you know well enough to descend upon them the weekend before Christmas with two cats and a vomiting person?? (Fortunately we got heat back before we had to go anywhere.)
