Google sets
Sep. 5th, 2003 05:39 pmI'm amusing myself to no end with Google Sets, found via a link from
officialgaiman. You enter a few words, and Google tries to predict other similar items.
Sometimes it seems like Google has two or three themes in mind, but other entries are quite mysterious.
For instance, enter Fraser and Ray, and you get back line segment, Prince Rupert, Phil Chouinard, Dave, Edith, RAB1C, Surface and, come, Joe, go far, go deep, Al Wahdawi, and shaft.
Enter Mountie and cop, and you start out with a bunch of police-related terms (apprehend, arrest, copper, pig). But then you get some randomness (ant, flags, snowbirds), followed by an unexpected left turn into somewhere between therapeutic roleplaying and, well, that other kind of roleplaying: Caretaker, Supportive Adult, Old Coot ... Construction Worker, Babe, Hitman, Elvis Presley, Naughty Nurse, Dominatrix, Omicron Demigod, Punisher, and Cowboy.
Glom is also on the list.
I foresee many wasted hours.
