[personal profile] flamingsword, How much weight do you give to criticism in fic comments, and do you feel that it is a healthy amount?

Far too much. Far, far too much.

First let me say that I love it when people comment and tell me about an issue that's easy to fix. (Misspelling, factual error, typo, local color error like getting a street name wrong.) I certainly don't want to discourage people from doing that.

And I believe that people ought to be free to express their opinions, and that if I don't want people to have negative opinions about something, then I shouldn't share it publicly.

But I take it to heart when someone doesn't like something, much more than I should.

I have to pretend that fandom anon communities don't exist, because if I allow myself to look at them, I'll look at them obsessively and be hurt and angry all the time.

I believe that this is not a good way to feel, but I feel this way just the same!
