The disrobing section of the dictionary

You can probably identify how old a fanfic writer is by what the default verb is for removing a pair of pants.

I remember a lot of "slip" or "slide." These days I'm seeing a lot of "peel."

Didn't Trek writers used to have a verb that implied that the clothes separated at the seams? Or am I imagining that?
