Wizard ages

Mona had a comment about trying to keep ten-year-old Harry out of your head when you're reading HP slash. As I was responding to it, I got to wondering about age in the HP wizarding world.

If wizards can live for more than a century (Dumbledore's close to 150, isn't he?), then it stands to reason that they'd experience age a little differently -- but differently how, exactly?

In terms of romantic relationships, I can see it going two ways:

1: Really, the places I've been, the things I've seen ... a person under 30 is a mere infant, not nearly old enough to interest me in any way.

Or ...

2. What's half a century between friends?

I feel all nosy, but I couldn't help but comment (http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=resonant8&itemid=4135&view=12327#t12327) as well. [blushes]

And, hmmm. That's an excellent point. I typically would go with choice 2. (But that's probably influenced by the fact that I've often been involved with people who were quite a bit younger or quite a bit older than myself.)
