They totaled the car. I am literally emailing the nearest Carmax location and going, "How many sky-blue Elantras, 2011-2016, with less than 40K miles can you line up for me to test-drive in one day?"

One of my co-workers is leaving the country and another is recovering from surgery, so I'm being trained for two new accounts. I've also switched cell phone carriers and upgraded my iPhone. Unfortunately, setting up the phone, learning the accounts, and handling insurance and car purchase are all using pretty much the same part of my brain, and that part is turning to moosh.

Maybe I'll spend this weekend, like, coloring mandalas or something.

Some states will allow you to buy your totaled car back from the insurer and repair it yourself. You'll need to look into the laws for rebuilt or salvaged cars to see if this's an option, but it might be worth it if you really want to keep the old one.

Jeez, even one of these is a bit; all at once? Rough.

*hugs*

Awww, that is a lot of brain power to have to focus all at once! I hope you get some relaxing coloring time in!

True! I was very confused about why some friends got me a fancy coloring book and nice colored pencils a few months ago for my birthday (nice gift, just why??), and then suddenly adult coloring books were everywhere!

All I can say is...Sorry! No one should have to deal with all that at one go.

Good luck with that - cars do come with so much fiddly stuff to deal with.

(And for whatever it's worth, per cars.com, there are 27 cars meeting those criteria within 500 miles of Des Moines, so probably there's one out there that would suit your needs.)

Oh, that's a lot of change. I'm sorry you're losing your prettily-coloured car.
