December Semi-Daily: Fraser in 2018

OK, so dates are meaningless. I knew at the outset that when I was in Spouseville I wouldn't be able to answer questions because there's no wifi. I don't know why I didn't just leave those dates out ...
mekare asks, What would Ben Fraser do in 2018?
Let's start here:

Gross is five years older than I am, so Fraser is, you know, probably not running down back alleys any more, but not quite old enough to retire.
(Incidentally, when I looked up when Mounties retire [because of course I did], I discovered that some RCMP drug-sniffing dogs have had to retire early because you can't teach a trained dog not to sniff out marijuana, which may affect Diefenbaker's life. Do not tell me that Diefenbaker is not still alive, because I don't want to hear it.)
I can see Fraser having left the force for any number of reasons, but it's also fun to imagine that he's working a desk job managing younger Mounties and finding that his daily job gives him more sympathy for Welsh every day.

I like to think he's not alone.

marina, "What was the last book you read that wasn't fanfic and that you intensely loved, and why."
24 --
wychwood, "Something about SGA! What's the one fic you're sorry you never wrote? What was your favourite episode? Do you still love John/Rodney? How gay WAS John Sheppard? Where in Atlantis would you live if you could pick any room you liked? Pick one or a topic of your choice."
25 --
isabellerecs, "What was your most favorite Christmas present that you ever received as a kid?" and/or "What Christmas present had you wanted badly but never received as a kid?"
26 --
runpunkrun, I'd be interested to hear about your experience with the CPAP machine.
27 --
destina, "how has your relationship to fandom changed over the years? By which I mean not just participation in it, but your level of tolerance/interest for the cyclical things about it, the way old arguments never really stop or die, etc, but also the ways fandom changes and new ways of doing fandom evolve. (And old ways evolve out, and terms evolve, etc.)"
28 --
kass, "What do you like best about where you live?"
29 --
mecurtin, What is the most beautiful sight you see outside on a regular basis? Can be a building, landscape, plant, animal, artwork, people playing, whatever.
30 --
china_shop, "Your favourite book you read this year."
31 --
wolfshark, "what is your favorite story to reread of your own stuff? what was your favorite story to write?"

(Also, because I fell into this fandom years after it ended, my headcanon Fraser and Ray pretty much age as the actors do, so silver fox Fraser is a given :)))) )

SO MUCH THIS. I actually love this idea for Fraser behind a desk with Ray there to keep him from overdoing it with the expectations of new recruits....
