[livejournal.com profile] villainny is looking for stories with knife-kink in them.

And -- does anybody remember a story with a blindfold and a knife, and afterwards when the heat of the moment is over, the "knife" turns out to have been a spoon? I thought it was a Due South story, but I can't remember which one it was.

Does anyone else remember this, or am I making it up?

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] auster found it! Sentinel, actually, not Due South. On Edge by Shadow.

I don't know what the title is, but it's The Sentinel, I'm pretty sure.

It's a Sentinel story--although I can't remember which one, sorry.

I spent five frustrated minutes going, "I know that one! I KNOW IT!" And then I went to my old Sentinel rec page and found it again -- On Edge (http://www.squidge.org/archive/archive/au2/onedge.html) by Shadow. Is that the one you were thinking of?

Yes! That's the one!

I was having the most frustrating time, because of course I could open my TS Keepers folder and do a Find with Content Includes Spoon, but, like, 60% of the slash stories ever written have the phrase "spoon(ed) up" in them, so all my hits were irrelevant.

Thanks!

::happy sigh::

I'd forgotten that one. Thanks for the reminder.

It's funny; reading that story felt like a trip down memory lane in more ways than one. There's a style to old Sentinel stories which I don't see much anymore. I wonder whether it's because my other fandoms have a different vibe, somehow, or whether it's because the style of writing I'm gravitating towards reading is different?

Can you articulate what's different?

I do catch myself thinking, "Slash is really changing," and then have to remind myself: The world didn't necessarily evolve in the order in which you discovered it!
