Yeah, it kind of sounds right to me. On a couple of occasions, I've felt a very intense gloating kind of satisfaction with a program I've written. They're such a purely intellectual exercise.

And while it's easy to make a program *work*, it's entirely different to make it work elegantly, efficiently.

It's a great feeling.
