Writer wishlist

Everyone's doing the writer wishlist thing. I got it from
penelope_z.
Writer you most wish wrote your genre or OTP
Oh, I'd love to see HP from
cesperanza, who must be getting sick of showing up on everybody's wish list. And from
liviapenn. I'd love it if Mallory Klohn would switch Rays for me, or if Your Cruise Director wrote slash as good as the Janeway/Chakotay stories I used to be hooked on back in the day, or if Heleninhell could be enticed away from popslash to do Draco, or Killashandra from Highlander to do Fraser ...
This reminds me of a discussion
julad once posted to her LJ: "Twenty stories, one writer, writing at their peak. You choose the fandom(s), but it has to last you a year. Only one writer. No, seriously. Gun to your head. Only one writer. No exceptions. Only one writer." I was going to do an answer to that one, but it hurt too much.
Writer you did a dance of joy when you got feedback from
The first time torch put me on her recs page, I was so excited that I would wake up in the night and go load the page just to look at it again.
Writer you would read pretty much anything they wrote
I'll at least dip a toe into anything by
cesperanza or
flambeau or
julad, but all three of them have worked with characters or worlds that I just couldn't get into, however I tried.
Writer you admire from afar/would love to get feedback from
I used to admire from afar, and then anne dragged me into chat and I started actually meeting people, and then everybody and her housekeeper started getting LJs, and now I don't feel like I'm "afar" from anybody any more.
Writer you most miss in fandom
There are a lot of people I remember from my early slash days, when I was reading nothing but Voyager and just stunned at the amazing array of wonderful stuff that people were giving me! for free! Is Supercat still writing, for instance? Ruth Devero? Nyani-Iisha Martin? Or, from Sentinel, Lyrica?
Then there are people who may be gone or may just be working on something big (or on a pro novel, bless their hearts) -- Aristide, say, or Valentin.
Writer(s) who have most influenced your style in some way
Cesca, though our strengths are very different. I could never plot the way she does, but to the extent that I'm able to plot at all, I owe a lot of that to her.
Writer you most want to meet and chat fic with
I've met a lot of my heroes, but I'd love to chat with
fabularasa and
ellen_fremedon and Dolores Crane.
Writer you most want to meet and chat smut with
Not that interested in chatting smut unless I need help writing smut.
And finally, along the "bulletproof kink" (TM Te)-- story that still turns you on no matter how many times you read it
It's tough for a story to stay sexy after several reads. Doesn't happen that much, really.
On the other hand, Speranza's Juggling Act and Chicago's Most Wanted don't get any less funny no matter how many times I read them.

Date: 5/30/03 08:25 pm (UTC)My best guess is that she took a less slash-friendly job and either stopped writing or stopped using her real name. She used to write these lovely Paris/Kim/Torres threesomes that I just gobbled up.
