Rec me music

I want to buy my brother a CD for his birthday.

The only two CDs that I know for certain my brother likes are Portishead's "Dummy" and Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares.

If you knew someone who liked those two CDs, what would you buy them?

Well, I have both, but I don't think I could extrapolate someone else's taste in music based on that - I can't even extrapolate my own. (The last two CDs I bought were Eminem and the Kronos Quartet.) Maybe a gift certificate? *g*

I never knew how eclectic my own tastes were until the internet came along and I had such a wide selection. The last two CDs I bought were Mexican baroque and Ella Fitzgerald.
