... and yes, I'm serious about that crossover. This is for the
cliche_bingo square "Unmixy things: weird crossovers."

Snape (sort of; it's complicated)/Horst -- NC-17 -- 2,700 words
Snape's happy ending requires him to start again in another story.
Warnings, if any (highlight to read): Um, cartoon characters having sex? No particular warning.

Date: 8/15/09 01:32 am (UTC)It's amazing me how many people haven't seen Ratatouille. It's really all kinds of fun, even if you have no carnal interest in the characters. (But it will make you hungry!)

Date: 8/11/09 10:33 pm (UTC)It is indeed an unmixy thing, and I think only you could have made it into such a sweet story with such tart characters.
Lovely!

Date: 8/11/09 10:42 pm (UTC)It is probably a sign that I've been made to watch Ratatouille waaaaaaaaaaay too many times that I can pretty much hear the whole thing in the back of my head.
(If Pixar's the afterlife, I get to move back to Point Richmond when I die. Which sounds pretty good, really.)

And that his first thought would be to try it out on a rat. And Colette as a born Slytherin.

Date: 8/15/09 01:41 am (UTC)I really noticed the lack of cigarettes in Ratatouille -- in a way it's even more implausible than a cooking rat.
So glad you liked it!

See, this is the perfect example of the Res Phenomenon: that thing where one reads anything a given writer writes because it is 127% guarandamnteed to be worth the reading, whether one knows the canons or not.
(As it happens, and for what it's worth, I am reasonably familiar with HP canon and not [yet] familiar at all with Ratatouille. I plan to remedy this. But see, that's the thing: with what you write, the way you write it? it doesn't matter, because it is STILL funny and hot and striking right the fuck home when one least expects it.)

Canonically I suppose he is cruel (especially when you think about the fact that the people he's talking to are children) -- but this is an excellent description of the Snape in my head.
