See, this is the perfect example of the Res Phenomenon: that thing where one reads anything a given writer writes because it is 127% guarandamnteed to be worth the reading, whether one knows the canons or not.
(As it happens, and for what it's worth, I am reasonably familiar with HP canon and not [yet] familiar at all with Ratatouille. I plan to remedy this. But see, that's the thing: with what you write, the way you write it? it doesn't matter, because it is STILL funny and hot and striking right the fuck home when one least expects it.)

Canonically I suppose he is cruel (especially when you think about the fact that the people he's talking to are children) -- but this is an excellent description of the Snape in my head.
