Yep! And that's true of most of the contemporary media I watch, too. (In fact, often the only thing that makes it bearable to stick my head into the soup of rape culture and consumerism and unexplored disturbing assumptions that is entertainment is being able to imagine what fandom's going to do with it afterwards.)
