Although I liked the Venom movie, I thought Eddie's "professional life" storyline was just lazy scriptwriting. There could have been many other ways for him to get into the same sort of life-ruining problem, ways that weren't so obviously stupid. Glad to hear that someone who knows journalism also thought it was silly.
