I think there’s a high likelihood that the kidlet has the virus. Symptoms so far: a day of fatigue and lightheadedness (the not-thinking-clearly kind, not the dizzy kind) followed by a day of mild muscle cramps.

They’re young and healthy, and I know most people who have it have pretty mild symptoms, but one frets, you know, when it’s one’s kidlet.

Also, of course, we’re sharing a small apartment, going around *touching* stuff, so the likelihood of me getting it just — i guess it didn’t increase, exactly, since it’s hard to increase from a baseline of “nearly inevitable,” but — became more real to me. I’m 55 (until Friday) and have hypertension (well controlled with drugs) so my risk of serious complications isn’t high but it’s nonzero.




I’m treating the inevitable fretting by rereading a lot of old Due South fic. Boy, that was some good stuff. Milk and honey.

Hoping for an easy time for kidlet, and for you if it comes to it.
I was tooling around on Tumblr and found a new DS fic from someone I didn't know which was VERY weird, as DS was my first fannish show (where I knew what a fandom was and that I was in one) and have an excellent memory for author names. A new!! DS fic!! I was astonished.
