Recs? Please?
Nov. 8th, 2002 03:28 pmStill trying to avoid reading Harry/Draco stories until I've finished the one I'm writing. Finding it increasingly difficult. Have sucked dry all the Snape stories I could find.
Anybody want to rec me some good Harry/Ron? Percyfic? Anything? Please?

Date: 11/8/02 02:17 pm (UTC)Confection Carnage by Aspen is good smut.

Lacking of foresight is good and long but a WiP
http://www.chibihanna.net/psa/hr/lackingforesight.html
And rhoddlet has written some nice H/R shorts, posted in her lj, I'll see if I can dig them up.
And well, you can try my H/R too if you're not too picky.

Date: 11/9/02 07:53 am (UTC)Well, I'm glad you liked it. I love Ron though almost nobody else does, in this fandom of Malfoys.

Date: 11/8/02 07:50 pm (UTC)I like Vali's Switch (http://www.certando.net/vali/switch.htm). I also recommend the very promising first four chapters of a headlong Harry/Ron smut by an author named Anna, titled Moving Pictures (http://www.witchfics.org/anna/movingpictures/index.html).
You may have/probably already have read them both. But other than that, I got nothin'. Did you find any good Snape stuff in your own peregrinations? Any recs?
Snape recs

Hm. Probably nothing everyone else hasn't already recced. In my keeper file I find these Snape stories that I've loved and would wholeheartedly* recommend. Heavily weighted toward explicit slash, since that's what I like best:
Dorcas: Perspective. (http://remembrall.slashcity.net/moonshadow/perspective.html) Snape/Lupin, established-relationship. This one may not do it for you unless, like me, you have a real kink for talking during sex.
Seeker: Potio. (http://www.angelfire.com/ego/vigilantgriffin/snape/fiction/seeker-potio.html) Snape/Lockhart, and once again, don't run screaming, because it's beautiful.
Please don't ask me which of these authors I've actually sent feedback to, or I'll have to do a Dobby and slam my ears in the oven.
E-mail me if you want a list of stories I would half-heartedly recomend.

Date: 11/9/02 07:24 pm (UTC)HP fandom has expanded my tolerance for incest as much as it has expanded my tolerance for WIPs, though in both cases the tolerance is still rather grudging.

Date: 11/9/02 08:52 pm (UTC)Here's a Ron smutfic you may have already have come across, especially if you've spent much time on Aspen's webpage, Paper Moon (http://papermoon.crackerbox.nu/ginnyswallows.html). Do as the Prefect Says (http://papermoon.crackerbox.nu/doastheprefectsays.html) is lots of fun. Not too heavy on characterization, but if smut is what you're after, this fic has it in spades. Heed the warnings, though.

If you remember the name of the story or the name of the archive, send it to me.
I was having a conversation at one point in chat, and for the duration of that conversation, Percy/Sirius totally made sense to me. But now I can't remember why.

Date: 11/9/02 11:17 am (UTC)As far as Harry/Ron:
A short that's sort of H/R: Easily, by Beck.
WIPs: A Lacking of Foresight, by Keelywolfe. Set five years after Hogwarts.
Moving Pictures, by Anna. 5th year.
And I'll through in a Ron/Draco short that I really liked and that has some of the same calmly understated nature that I liked about "The Familiar": Surfacing, by Kay.

Re: Hmm..I know squat about H/R
Date: 11/11/02 06:34 pm (UTC)One of the weaknesses of Percy/Neville is that that's an awful lot of Awkward, Shy, Misunderstood, Out Of Place, and Friendless to cram into a single story. Percy/Oliver at least has one character who's not staggering under the weight of all that insecurity.
Canon Percy thinks so highly of himself. I'd love to read a story in which he's actually as smart as he thinks he is.
