Because we all need a hyooge story in a semi-non-existent fandom to make our day complete.

Date: 7/30/05 04:51 pm (UTC)Not sure if I can describe how much I love this fic, other than "I want to live in it." Now I understand the fangirl craving for a sequel even though the fic reached its ending. I want to see John's family meet Brian, and see if they figure it out. I want to see what happens at the wedding. I want to hang out with these guys and eat stuffed pizza (and I don't even know what that is).
I want to re-read it right now, I want to re-read it every day. I so love the fact that John got himself together -- hard to do with a background like that; he could so easily have gone the other way and been lost. That might be the biggest reason I liked the story. I also like the way Brian has matured and is quite self-assured. And I love INGIJLY (I'm Not Gay, I Just Love You) fics, so this totally hit that for me, especially the way John was so open to everything. The porch scene? So funny, the way Brian was fumbling with the keys, and also so hot, the way John just went after him, first with his words and his voice, then with his hands and mouth. Guh.
Plus, it's all so in-character: the only way Bender gets out of the path his life was on was to use his father as an anti-role model. That same reasoning lets him move into a relationship with Brian, whom he actually likes, but would probably run from if he hadn't had his back up about it.
Um, so, yeah. Possibly new favorite fic, and it's not even in any of my fandoms. I'm going to start reccing this to everyone. I liked it so much that now I'm happy and energized and doing stuff around the house. That never happens. :-)

Date: 8/3/05 02:52 am (UTC)It's so nice that you want to hang out in this universe -- that's how I feel about the books I love best, so it gave me a nice warm feeling.
Stuffed pizza, btw, is a thing of beauty. There's a crust on the bottom, and a crust on top, and in between is about an inch and a half of spinach and cheese. (You can get other fillings, but spinach and cheese is the one I dream about at night.) Tomato sauce on top. More like a savory pie than a pizza, really. Damn, now I want one, and Carmen's is 4 hours away.
