I've just watched a perfectly ordinary-looking guy put seven creamer packs in one cup of coffee.

"She had these implants. They looked like shoeboxes. In both size and shape."

Guy at playground takes out his cigarette and says, "C'mon, babe, we gotta go to Whole Foods."

"I don't drink around my in-laws, because I might relax."

"Do we have a quorum?"
"I think we even have a quorum of Kathys."

An author in my writer's group: "I could be on the Revision Diet." [Stamps foot and whines:] "If I want chips, I can have them!"

Ooh, that's a nice mental picture.

I don't actually even remember what the guy looked like. Or, for that matter, where this happened; there's no Whole Foods here in Mooville, that's for sure. I was cleaning out the computer room and I found a notebook so old that it actually had bits of an early draft of Transfigurations in it, and several of these quotes were in it, too.

You need the Nokia 6200something *misses lovely company phone*, either for snapshots to place with your crack-quotes, or to record whole overheard conversations on audio or video! ;)

Who needs to make up dialog when you can overhear things like this? The implant one, in particular, is scary. The quorum of Cathys is delightful.

I've been accused of having a little coffee with my cream. That much cream, however, is also known in some circles as "too cheap to spring for a latte."

It depends on where you get your coffee. There's a twin cities chain that makes the toughest coffee I've ever had anywhere. If I forget to ask them for some hot water in it, I have to pour in about a quarter cup of half and half. The upside is, if I get a latte, I don't have to ask for four shots . . .
